Sirkkalehtimerkkiä tuotteissaan käyttävät viljelijät kasvattavat tuotteensa vastuullisesti, ympäristöä ja työntekijöiden oikeuksia kunnioittaen.

Keskiverto kasvihuoneyritys on pieni tai keskisuuri yritys, joka työllistää yrittäjäperheen. Toisaalta suurimmat kasvihuoneyritykset ovat useamman hehtaarin kokoisia ja työllistävät kymmeniä, jopa sata henkilöä. Jokaisella yrittäjällä on oma tarinansa, intohimonsa kasvattaa suomalaista ruokaa. Yhdelle tarina on perinteen jatkaminen, toiselle intohimo ruokaan, kolmannelle innostus uusiin tekniikoihin ja mahdollisuuksiin. Kaikissa kuitenkin yhdistyy käsityöläisyys, intohimo ja rakkaus lähiruokaan.

Kasvihuoneala on samansuuntaisen rakennekehityksen alla kuin muu puutarhatalous ja maatalous. Viljelijöiden määrä vähenee, mutta viljelyn pinta-ala on pysytellyt viime vuosina melko samana, sillä tuotantoala pystytään hyödyntämään entistä tehokkaammin.
